James Bryce Clark (jamie.clark@oasis-open.org), is a senior executive and General Counsel of OASIS, one of the largest global consortia developing Internet standards for e-business and the information society. Previously he was its Director of Standards, responsible for supervising 60+ industry expert committees.

He is an e-commerce and information technology attorney who began his practice as a corporate restructuring lawyer on Wall Street with Shearman & Sterling in New York. Jamie represented high technology companies in their finance and corporate transactions through the 1990's, and chaired the American Bar Association's business law subcommittee on electronic commerce. While a practicing attorney, he was a contributor to the original ebXML project (now ISO 15000), a co-editor of its business process standards, and chairman of its Coordinating Committee. Before that, he was vice president and general counsel of a healthcare e-commerce privacy & security company, and corporate partner in a Los Angeles law firm.

Jamie served as a U.S. delegate to the e-commerce working group of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), and is a member of the W3C Advisory Committee, the Kantara Initiative Interop Review Board, the US SmartGrid Interoperability Panel standards project and the OECD Internet Technical Advisory Committee. He is a frequent invited speaker on internet and privacy laws, and global licensing policies, as well as workouts of securitizations & complex finance.
