Bio
Alex was elected to Holyrood in May 2016 as member for Edinburgh Western. He has been involved with the Liberal Democrats since 1987. In September 2001 he was appointed as national communications officer for the Scottish Liberal Democrats. Subsequently, he worked in policy and communications roles within the third sector, latterly at Aberlour Child Care Trust. Alex has dedicated his working life to a range of children’s charities where he has used his knowledge of the Scottish political system to bring about real change.
