Hartford Networking Night - featuring John Brady, Protem Partners - How to Talk TED

Thursday, April 14, 2016
6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Marriott Hartford Downtown
200 Columbus Boulevard
Hartford, CT, 06103

The Greater Hartford Alumni Network invites alumni and students to gather for an evening of conversation and networking featuring UConn Alumni's preferred resource for career & management consulting, Protem Partners. Enjoy a short 25-35 minute professional development workshop and then delight in valuable conversations, networking, great food and beverages with your fellow Huskies at the Marriott Hartford Downtown Hotel.

Join Executive Director and Founder of Protem Partners, John Brady as he leads this short workshop for professionals aiming to enhance their oratory communications skills.

If you want to climb the ladder of success in any sector, formal oratory is a critical skill that few learn as it is no longer standard curriculum in most countries. TED Talks, for example, have become modern day “secular sermons” on a variety of topics by following the rules of oratory that have been practiced for centuries and that continue to be taught to future clergy of the world’s major religions.

Outcomes/Objectives:
  • Elements of a compelling speech.
  • Narrative and flow that engages an audience.
  • How to close effectively.
Cost: $5 per person.  Includes a full slate of hors d'ouevres inclusive of a Slider Bar and passed offerings.

A cash bar will also be available.
