Karen is a marketing consultant following years working for Cancer Council Australia as Director, Marketing and Fundraising. She is Campaign Director for Australia’s bequest campaign – Include a Charity. She developed her skills across the FMCG and not-for-profit sectors and draws on this blend of commercial and NFP knowledge. Karen is a highly strategic and analytical individual with strong stakeholder engagement skills across all tiers of management and external stakeholders. She is a CFRE and completed an MA and B.Comm.

Laura is currently undertaking the Certificate in Fundraising offered by FIA. She holds qualifications in Advertising and Marketing and has over 20 years of experience in the corporate world having worked in leading advertising agencies as well as in marketing, client services and general administration, both in Australia and Peru. She is also experienced in the not-for profit sector, having volunteered her time in the educational and religious fields as well as holding positions in human resources and fundraising.

Evelyn is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and a Fellow of the Fundraising Institute Australia. She established her own fundraising consultancy in 2000, Evelyn Mason & Associates and has worked with a great diversity of organisations – both large and small. She has won, in association with her clients 11 FIA awards for Excellence at state and national levels and a national Gold Serif Award for the Bequest Information Support Materials which she wrote and produced. Evelyn presents frequently at FIA seminars, Skills courses and conferences. She is currently a volunteer Director of the FIA and a member of the NSW Chapter.
Sharne Nicholls

National Breast Cancer Foundation

With 25 years’ experience in the legal industry, Sharne moved into the not-for-profit sector in 2005 working for the Schizophrenia Research Institute where she rose to become the Fundraising Manager until 2012. Sharne also worked at the Kolling Foundation before moving to the National Breast Cancer Foundation where she is currently the Gifts in Wills Officer. Sharne has established the NBCF’s Bequest program from the ground up, and is responsible for both lead generation and marketing, as well as the on-going relationship management of NBCF’s bequest supporters. Sharne has achieved significant growth in the program from both traditional and innovative lead generation channels. Sharne joined the legal sub-committee of Include a Charity in 2013 which focused on engaging the legal community with the campaign. Sharne is passionate about driving consideration amongst the Foundation’s supporters, growing bequests as a future sustainable income source, and effecting change by enabling donors to leave a legacy beyond their lifetime.
