Dr. Flaherty received a Bachelor of Science from Yale University and medical degree from Johns Hopkins University. He trained in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and completed a fellowship in medical oncology at the University of Pennsylvania. After 7 years on faculty at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Flaherty moved to Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School to serve as the Director of Developmental Therapeutics for the MGH Cancer Center. He has led the clinical development and associated translational research with numerous investigational targeted therapies, including the first effective targeted therapies for metastatic melanoma. In the proposed project, Dr. Flaherty participate in design of analysis interfaces and provide guidance regarding clinically and therapeutically important subgroups to prioritized in platform validation.
