Nik Ong is a registered professional engineer in BC, and a project management professional (PMP). He obtained a mechanical engineering degree from the University of British Columbia. Nik has been with FortisBC for close to 8 years. He has held positions in FortisBC with Engineering, and the Project Management Office. Nik used to manage their cathodically isolated steel gas mains replacement program. Currently he is the regional engineer in Operations/Asset Management overseeing capital improvement projects in Metro Vancouver. Nik has a focus on PE distribution gas main installations and gas regulating stations. He is a committee member of their internal PE Working Group focusing on PE pipe/fusion issues.
