As part of the proposed replacement of computer equipment and mobile telecommunications at Gaz Métro, an analysis was performed to determine the intrinsic level of safety required for hardware tools and telecommunications device used by field technicians involved with the distribution and transmission networks. Referring to CAN CSA-C22.1 part 11, the intrinsic safety levels used by Gaz Métro had to be revised.
