Bio
Manfred is an independent consultant on environment and industrial energy issues. He retired in 2013 after 33 years in the Canadian government, most recently with six years at the Gas Turbine Labs of the National Research Council. 

Prior to this, he spent 16 years with Environment Canada, involved in balanced solutions to industrial emissions of air pollution and greenhouse gases. There he worked with industry and government to develop National Emission Guidelines for Gas Turbines, with new energy-output based environmental standards to promote cogeneration and district energy with system reliability. He provided extensive training on integration of energy systems, with multiple environmental air and water priorities for environmental assessments. 

Before that Manfred was with the National Energy Board for 11 years dealing with natural gas pipeline and compressor station regulatory work. 

• Former Chair of the IAGT Industrial Gas Turbine Applications Committee and the ASME/IGTI International Gas Turbine Environment Committee, 
• Past member of the Environmental R&D group of the Canadian Gas Association.
