Desert Foot Conference

The Desert Foot Conference continues to grow in attendance and academic excellence. This year’s conference, which just concluded at its permanent home at the Phoenix Sheraton Downtown, hosted a record number of attendees from 12 countries and 47 states. One hundred Abstract Posters were judged with First Prize in the Non-Resident category awarded to Thuy Le, DPM, of Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington for her abstract, Treatment of Non-Bypassable Critical Limb Threatening Ischemia with Ischemic Ulcers Utilizing ArtAssist Monitored with Fluorescent Angiography. First Prize winner in the Resident category was awarded to Matthew Reiner, DPM of St. Vincent Charity Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio for his abstract, Can Procalcitonin be Used as a Biomarker for Predicting Amputation Level in Lower Extremity Infections?  A highlight of the conference was the presentation by William Li, MD entitled “Angiogenesis at Crossroad of Regenerative Wound Therapy,” in which he mapped out the near future direction that this vibrant field is moving. This standing room only attended presentation will be posted in the PRESENT Podiatry Online Lecture Hall, along with other selected presentations from the conference.

Our gratitude goes to Grand Conference Sponsor MiMedx for their huge support for this vital industry event. Mark your calendar, as next year’s Desert Foot 2016 Conference will take place at the same location from October 19-22, 2016.
