Kenji Nagai is Executive Manager of Public Sector at NTT DATA Corporation, a global IT services and solution company. With his extensive experience as a project manager in leading large-scale mission critical systems for central government and ministries/agencies in the public sector, he has especially built up a solid career in developing an important customs system in Japan, called Nippon Automated Cargo and port Consolidated System(NACCS).  

His successful track record in building systems for customs procedures and related services led him to undertake key international projects. He was based in Hanoi from August 2012 to March 2014 as a project manager responsible for developing and implementing IT systems for the Vietnam customs (VNACCS/VCIS), through which he gained and further strengthened his skills in managing large projects overseas. He ensured a smooth transfer of technical know-how to local staff and VNACCS/VCIS successfully went live in April 2014. Presently, VNACCS runs smoothly, contributing significantly to the economic development of Vietnam.  

He also plays an indispensable role in key projects both within Japan and abroad. While he works on developing IT systems called MACCS/MCIS for customs procedures in Myanmar, he serves as a project manager for the NACCS upgrade which will continue to serve Japan as its mission-critical system.
