Mr. Markie Muryawan is currently Chief of International Merchandise Trade Statistics (IMTS) Section of United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD). As part of IMTS work programme, he is responsible for overall management of UN Comtrade (repository of official trade statistics and relevant analytical tables). Before joining United Nations in 2001, he worked as IT consultant in multinational IT companies. He started his career as associated information system officer in UNSD, then moved to UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development) as Chief of Statistical Production Unit, and finally returned to UNSD to take charge of IMTS Section. Mr. Muryawan has participated and contributed to the development of Statistical Data and Metadata Exchange (SDMX) since its inception (version 1.0).
