Mr. Brian Glancy is the Director, Trade Facilitation, in the Southern Africa Trade Hub in Gaborone, Botswana.  Mr. Glancy leads a team of experts providing advisory services to member states of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) in the design and development of trade facilitation initiatives to support their commitments to the WTO Agreement on Trade Facilitation (TFA). Initiatives include the implementation of National Single Window environments, Trade Information Portals, Coordinated Border Management programs and a Comprehensive Trade Facilitation Programme for SADC.  Mr. Glancy has been involved in many Customs and Trade Reform projects in Iraq, Egypt, Afghanistan, Uganda and Former Yugoslavia.  Prior to his career change to international development work, Mr. Glancy was employed for 28 years with the Canada Border Services Agency. During his customs tenure, Mr. Glancy rose from his Customs Inspector days at the Niagara Falls Ontario border crossing, retiring from government service as a Program Manager in the Borders Intelligence Directorate , HQ, in Ottawa.
