Duncan Cleary, from Dublin, Ireland, works in the Fiscal Affairs Department of the International Monetary Fund, based at the IMF’s Headquarters in Washington DC, where he is applying analytics to the work of revenue administration at an international level. Prior to joining the Fund, he acted as the senior professional analytics resource for Revenue, Irish Tax and Customs, where he specialized in the development and deployment of business analytics to improve taxpayer compliance and service, including the use of predictive analytics, customer segmentation, real-time risk, large scale surveys, evidence based decision support, social network analysis and hybrid analytics for risk. Duncan has presented on Revenue’s use of analytics widely and at an international level. While in Revenue, Duncan also managed Revenue's Graduate Analytics Internship program. Duncan holds a B.A. (Mod.) in Natural Sciences and a Ph.D. in Geology, Palaeontology and Statistics, both from Trinity College, Dublin.
