IFMA’s 2015 Strategic Issues Series (SIS) strives to help clear up the “blurred lines” that are occurring within the foodservice channel. Non-traditional segments continue to earn greater attention as their growth is significantly outpacing traditional food prepared away from home segments.
Manufacturers, traditional operators, and consumers alike have taken notice of the shift in focus by groceries over the past several years. The expansion of hot and cold prepared foods in store perimeters has taken share away from “traditional” foodservice outlets such as restaurants and as a result, many foodservice suppliers have identified the grocery segment as a strong growth opportunity.

The January agenda will include:
  • Operator & consumer needs: A deep dive of research and insights on what retailers and consumers expect from prepared foods in the grocery sector, presented by Datassential and The NPD Group.
  • Challenges & opportunities: A review of the complexities involved with grocery foodservice and how manufacturers can capitalize in this growing segment.
  • Industry Practitioners: Hear from Bob Baxley, Partner at The Partnering Group about what is the mind of a retailer. Bob has held a variety of senior management positions in large multi-unit retail organizations like: Winn-Dixie Stores, H.E. Butt Grocery Company, Smith's Food and Drug and Albertsons Inc.
  • Break-out Discussion and Report-Out: Learning from each other is a common and high value feature at all Strategic Issues Series Forums. Don’t miss out!
IFMA’s 2020 Strategic Issues Series is a complimentary Manufacturer Members-only offering that identifies and frames key strategic issues while providing Members with a deeper understanding of the impact on their businesses.
