Following two successful workshops during September 2013 and January 2014
a further workshop will be taking place in 2015.


Overview
This VAT seminar is a ‘must attend’ workshop. Guest speaker, Mike Payne from Grosvenor VAT Consultants, will outline and explain the basic principles of VAT, its application to vocational training, determining reasonable knowledge of VAT issues and dangers of assumption, i.e. ‘myths and facts’ and misinterpretation of the legislation.

The workshop is structured to be as practical as possible while interaction is encouraged by questions being welcomed along with dialogue between attendees. Each issue will be thoroughly discussed and advised upon.

Attendees will also be made aware of other support services available to provider organisations and AELP Members to help them manage their VAT accounting and declarations, and how to prepare for and deal with VAT Inspections by HMRC.

Current Issues

The services of subcontractors results in specific VAT issues which will also be covered in this workshop. Including:

1. The VAT liabilities of the supplies.
2. Implications for the provision of management services by the prime contractor, including the sub-contractor incurring irrecoverable VAT.
3. The source of funding & matching contributions from employers has a fundamental impact on the VAT application & treatment by providers.
