Description: Dentistry is medicine, especially when it comes to dealing with the wide range and manifestations of' bacterial, viral and fungal infections in the oral cavity. This course is a fast paced, comprehensive (and entertaining!) overview of the Rx and OTC products available to treat the oral/medical problems we see every day in general dental practice.

Learning Objectives:

  • You will be able to choose the most current, effective topical and systemic antiviral drugs for patients with herpes virus infections.
  • You will be able to decide on the first, second, and third drugs of choice for oral infections.
  • You will be aware of the newest prescription and OTC drugs for fungal infections, aphthous ulcers, sinusitis, and other oral cavity/head and neck problems.
  • You will learn the most current guidelines for the prophylaxis of patients with medical problems.
