Workshop 1 Choices:

1) Turning Dreams Into a Reality – An Introduction to Business Planning
How important is a business plan and do I really need one? This session will walk through the formulation of a plan and the reasons to for it. We look at the structure of the business plan to help move you closer to your goals.

Peter Daniel
Peter is an entrepreneur and director with over 10 years business experience at owner and director level, alongside 2 years direct business advisor experience. He specialises in supporting start-up businesses with their business planning, market research and finance management.

2) Getting in the Right State of Mind for Business
In this session, using some of the most practical techniques, you will understand how to manage your state of mind to deal with a variety of business situations, which will act as a taster for the full course available through the Enterprising Worcestershire programme.

Paul Ward
Paul is an accredited NLP trainer who received personal training by the founding member of NLP, Richard Bandler, assisted by TV’s Paul McKenna. Paul has spent the last 10 years running a business which provides practical business advice and guidance to help businesses start and grow.

Workshop 2 Choices:

1) Sales and Marketing Strategies
A workshop focusing on marketing your small business or startup, covering aspects such as constructing a marketing plan, target markets, branding awareness and practical tips for getting sales using a variety of methods.

Jo Murphy
Jo is a lecturer in Business & Entrepreneurship for the University of Worcester, as well as being project lead for the Enterprising Worcestershire Start-up Summer Bootcamp. She has the added experience of having set up and ran two of her own businesses.

2) Funding the Dream
An introduction to finance available locally and how to apply. This session will look at local grants and funding streams and the process from application to appraisal. This key understanding will help applicants assess what finance is suitable for them and how to apply.

Sam Preece & Simon Kennedy
Sam Preece is the Programme Manager for Enterprising Worcestershire. Simon Kennedy, founder of BigHorn Biltong and a Blue Orchid business mentor, has extensive experience in running and supporting local businesses. Having left corporate business Simon went on to found local BigHorn Biltong and was featured on BBC’s Back to the Land with Kate Humble in 2018.
