12th Annual Bob Fowler Memorial Motorcycle Ride
Mark your calendar for two exciting rides on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015 and another on Sunday, September 27, 2015 that incorporate the sights of Southern California and the magnificent scenery of the Pacific Ocean Coast and inland areas. You may choose to participate both days, or on Saturday or Sunday only. A commemorative tee shirt is included in the registration fee.

1st Annual Ron Burton Golf Outing
In celebration of the life and work of William Ronald “Ron” Burton, a renowned code expert who worked on many code-related projects for ICC, BOMA and NAHB, this 1st Annual Ron Burton Golf Outing is a fundraising effort developed by the Past Presiding Officers to develop training and resources for the next generation of code officials. It offers a great opportunity to get together with fellow code professionals during a shotgun start golf tournament to be held on Sept. 27, 2015, at the Recreation Park 18 Golf Course.

The tournament will be a shotgun-start on one of Long Beach’s best golf courses. The tourney will include a 50/50 drawing; prizes for the longest drive and closest to the pin; a hole-in-one contest (with a chance to win a Mazda Miata); and gifts for all participants. Transportation, breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Queen Mary / California State University Pre-Conference Tour
The morning tour will be an exciting and informative tour of Queen Mary. Queen Mary is a retired ocean liner that sailed primarily on the North Atlantic Ocean from 1936 to 1967 for the Cunard Line. We will be discussing various projects toward restoration, rehabilitation, ADA related compliance measures and the application of historic preservation standards. From the ship's groundbreaking construction and royal launch as the most luxurious and technologically advanced ocean liner at the time, to her duty as a troopship during WWII, to her golden days of the 1950s, to her earning the nickname, the "haunted ship," the Queen Mary's history is full of action, adventure, romance and paranormal activity. Explore the ship from bow to stern, inside and out, and hear unique stories, facts and insights about the Queen Mary from our expert guides. After a delightful lunch (included) aboard Queen Mary, participants will be able to tour the special exhibit (included): DIANA: Legacy of a Princess & gift shops.

After Queen Mary, we will be heading off to California State University. This will be an exciting and informative tour of California State University in Long Beach. California State University, Long Beach, known nationally as "The Beach," is a hub of diversity, both culturally and intellectually. The 322-acre campus is designed to encourage student involvement and success. Eighty buildings house 63 academic programs and harmonize with master planned architecture, landscape and environmental sculpture for unparalleled access to success. Participants must register for the full day and will receive 0.6 ICC CEUs.

Additional Fee of $125 applies. This tour is limited to 47 people and will be listed as an option when you register.

This event will allow attendees to meet this year's ICC Board candidates and reacquaint themselves with current Board Members in a casual setting.  This event will include light finger foods and beverages.  It will be held at Parker's Lighthouse located at 435 Shoreline Village Drive, Long Beach, CA.

ICC Resume Clinic
ICC will offer conference attendees the chance to receive individual advice on resumes and cover letters. Sponsored by Sequence Staffing, Frank De Safey and Craig Travis in addition to private and public sector hiring managers, organization fellows, and division officers, and other volunteers will spend 15-20 minutes with attendees reviewing resumes and offering customized job search advice. This year's Networking Luncheon speaker is Brent Gleeson. He is a Navy SEAL combat veteran with multiple tours to Iraq and Africa where his team’s primary objective was running capture or kill missions working in conjunction with the CIA. Upon leaving SEAL Team 5, Brent turned his discipline and battlefield lessons to the world of business and has become an accomplished entrepreneur, writer, and acclaimed speaker on topics ranging from leadership to entrepreneurship and marketing. This event, entitled Partners for Future Success, is exclusive for Chapter leaders. Global Forum
The theme for this year's Forum is: Earthquake Preparedness and Recovery within the Frame of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in the World: Are Building Codes the Ultimate Solution? The Global Forum will focus on how DRR is achieved through Earthquake Preparedness and/or Earthquake Recovery programs in different countries as the participants will present the characteristics of such programs as well as challenges and successes of their implementation, and how these affect the building regulations and are shaping the regulatory ecology in their countries. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Lucy Jones, a renowned seismologist with the US Geological Survey and a Visiting Research Associate at the Seismological Laboratory of Caltech.

Welcome to Long Beach Reception
The year was 1926. Calvin Coolidge was President, airplanes had taken flight, and behind closed doors – the flappers danced, the champagne was cold and the band played on. Join your California friends as we roll out the red carpet for a uniquely California tour back in time. This is old Hollywood, with a prohibition twist! Today, the Federal Bar is housed within the confines of an ornate 1905 art deco bank building that will take you back nearly a century – providing the perfect venue for the ultimate evening of fun in conjunction with the ICC Annual Conference. This party is the official “opening event” of the conference.

Disneyland / ARTIC Building Tour
This will be an exciting and informative tour of select locations at Disneyland Park in Anaheim. Disneyland is Walt Disney's original theme park built in Anaheim, California and opened on July 17, 1955. Today Disneyland is one of two theme parks located at the Disneyland Resort. Disneyland has made a number of green changes that has saved the park $60 million over the past 10 years. Participants will be able to tour several buildings on-stage and backstage with architects and engineers that design and maintain the facilities at the Disneyland Resort.

In the afternoon we will be touring the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC) in Anaheim. The tour will be conducted by individuals with building knowledge of the ARTIC building, history & growth. The ARTIC project is an important element in the revitalization of Anaheim. The iconic ARTIC intermodal facility represents the Orange County transportation gateway to the future.

The City of Anaheim’s vision sets the bar high for ARTIC, with the achievement of the sustainable goal of the U. S. Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED Platinum certification. Platinum is the highest LEED certification under LEED for New Construction & Major Renovations (V2009). LEED is a measurement system based on environmental & energy principles designed for rating the sustainability of buildings, homes, & neighborhoods. Building to LEED standards over time saves energy, water, & provides a healthy environment for occupants.

Participants are asked to wear comfortable flat shoes and no shorts are allowed. Also no children are allowed and participants must register for the full day and will receive .6 ICC CEUs. Lunch is included.

Additional Fee of $75 applies. This tour is limited to 40 people and will be listed as an option when you register.

The Resilience Workshop—Featured at the Government Relations Forum
This Workshop will include a presentation from Professor Jesse Keenan, Research Director for Columbia University’s Center for Urban Real Estate in the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. He will discuss his research, including a global review of buildings codes, the factors that impact the built environment and ways to promote resiliency in homes and buildings.
