Attention writers interested in hip hop, superheroes and social justice! In this unique workshop, you’ll engage with the academic writing process through critical thinking and creative writing using the core elements of hip hop: deejaying, emceeing, breakdancing, and graffiti art. As you explore these core elements, I’ll help you use this knowledge to create a hip hop narrative based upon a superhero you’ll create in the course. Some critical thinking and research on community issues will be necessary to engage the hero with a meaningful conflict to overcome. The workshop will conclude with a League of Hip Hop Justice storytelling event.
