Rocky Mountain Blood Cancer Conference - HCP Track
 

GOAL: To educate oncology nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals about the treatment and management of blood cancer, and support available for blood cancer patients and professionals. 

TARGET AUDIENCE: Oncology nurses and social workers at all levels of licensure, and other healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of patients with blood cancer. 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

Oral Adherence: Strategies for Ensuring Patients Stay on Oral Oncolytic (and other) Therapy(ies)
•    Appreciate the changing landscape/increase in options in oral oncolytic therapy
•    Identify patients who are appropriate for oral oncolytic therapy
•    Understand the barriers patients face in obtaining/staying on therapy(ies)
•    Apply strategies to support patients’ long-term continuation of therapy

Food Insecurity Among Cancer Patients
•    Define food insecurity and it's complex effects on the cancer patient population
•    Discover the barriers patients face in obtaining adequate food security
•    Apply strategies to support and assess a patient's food security

Helping Patients Navigate Clinical Trials 
•    Understand Clinical Trials basics, including risks and benefits of participation
•    Demonstrate how you can help patients find appropriate clinical trials
•    Interpret special considerations around clinical trials, caring for and educating patients and caregivers 

Multiple Myeloma: How To Help Your Patients Be Smarter About Their Disease
•    Comprehend basic facts about Multiple Myeloma, including biology, incidence and clinical presentation
•    Identify approaches to treating patients with Multiple Myeloma at all stages of the disease
•    Understand the development of new therapies in Multiple Myeloma

Approval for nurses has been obtained by the National Office of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society under Provider Number CEP 5832 to award 4.0 continuing education contact hours through the California Board of Registered Nursing.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Provider Number 1105, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. LLS maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period: 12/10/17-12/14/2020. Social workers completing this course receive 4.0 continuing education credits. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is recognized by the New York State Education Departments State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #0117. LLS maintains responsibility for the program. Social workers will receive 4.0 CE contact hours for this activity.

Upon completion of this program and submission of the activity evaluation, a certificate of completion will be emailed to you within 30 days.

There is no fee for this education activity, but pre-registration is required.
