10 mins | Welcome, Introduction to the session and the newly published Governance & Leadership Guide |
35 mins | In Groups, we will consider specific governance and leadership challenges identified by participants prior to the workshop, and explore ideas that can help overcome these challenges If no challenges have been identified we will consider the Board assessment prompt sheet and explore participants’ views on it’s contents, other models of assessment they might use and their implementation |
45 mins | First we will share ideas that have emerged to tackle the specific issues raised and, then, consider the strengths and any weaknesses in the approach adopted. Before breaking, we will assess how useful the Guide has been in providing frameworks and processes for addressing the issues. |
20 mins | SHORT REFRESHMENT BREAK |
25 mins | We will move on to unpacking the concept of work shadowing as another way of drawing on the practice of others to strengthen governance and leadership. We want to explore whether the idea would be welcomed by ITPs or if there are alternative approaches to ‘learning through sharing’ that may be better fit for purpose. Whatever approach draws greatest support, our discussions will include identifying the parameters for its implementation and the agreed protocols that would need to be observed to protect commercial sensitivity. |
