The FRESH master classes happen the day after the conference. A small group, training, hands-on with a specific topic. Expect an  intense day of learning.

Programme

Learn a host of participation techniques that will transform your meetings by improving learning, connections, and enjoyment in any conference session! This is a unique opportunity to spend a day with Adrian Segar, author of the popular book Conferences That Work: Creating Events That People Love.

Experience in Adrian's workshop many of the techniques described in his new book, working title Conference Sessions That Work: Harnessing the Power of Participation to Transform Your Events. Participants will learn techniques like The Three Questions, human spectrograms, low/no-tech voting, round tables, plus/delta, affinity grouping, Post-It!, personal introspectives, group spectives, and more by actually experiencing these techniques in the context of the FRESH conference and their own professional interests.

Biography

Adrian Segar is a former elementary particle physicist who has organized and facilitated conferences for over 30 years. Dissatisfied with traditional conferences, and realizing that he loved to connect with people and to create spaces for them to connect with each other, he created the first peer conference in 1992, and has been refining Conferences That Work process ever since.

Adrian is an acknowledged innovator and speaker on participant-led event design, and facilitates two popular opening and closing plenaries—The Solution Room and A Personal Retrospective—at many different conferences. He has presented at Meeting Professionals International’s World Education Congress, EIBTM, MPI Chapter meetings, the MPI Chapter Business Summit, HSMAI MEET, and GMIC & NESAE annual conferences. Adrian is the community manager for the weekly #eventprofs Twitter chat. He is a proponent of and presenter at EventCamps—volunteer-run, innovative, experimental conferences for event professionals—and has organized and facilitated two in Philadelphia and Washington, DC.

In 2011, BizBash Magazine named Adrian as one of “The 68 Most Innovative Event Professionals”. 


Timetable and fees

Adrian's Masterclass is on January 16, the day after the FRESH Conference; it starts at 09:00 and ends at 16:00.

The fee is €250.00, including lunch and coffee breaks; discount codes do not apply.

Subscriptions are limited per session.
