Mr David Lane, Chairman, ThomsonAdsett, Australia

As one of Australia’s best-known architectural specialists in the Elderly Care industry, David has worked on major domestic projects across private, public and charitable sectors. He has directed work on significant international projects located in Asia, United Kingdom, Canada, and USA. He has been instrumental in developing ThomsonAdsett’s reputation as a Specialist Consultancy Practice through the expansion of Retirement and Aged Care divisions in key growth markets around Australia.

Ms Lim Sia Hoe, Executive Director, Centre for Seniors, Singapore

Lim Sia Hoe (Ms) is an MPA candidate at the Harvard Kennedy School. Siahoe has vast experience in tripartite (labour, business and government) engagement and relationships having work in union and social enterprise and private sector. She was heading a social enterprise, providing health and aged care services in Singapore for more than 8 years. Currently she is working in a Non-Profit Organization (NPO), looking at employment and employability of older worker in Singapore.

Whilst she was in the health and aged care sector, she re-defined the service model of day-care centres and develop a systematic engagement program with health and wellness elements in the care plans for senior clients, offer a new take to the service delivery model to home help and home nursing services and tapping on the potential assets in domestic helpers in providing better care to elderly through structured training and support.

Dr Ng Wai Chong, Chief of Clinical Affairs, Tsao Foundation, Singapore

Dr Ng is Chief, Clinical Affairs of Tsao Foundation, a non-profit organization inaugurated in 1993 to positively transform the experience of ageing. He has been practicing Family Medicine for seniors since 2000, when he started full time as the visiting physician in Hua Mei Mobile Clinic. Over the years, he has grown while contributing to the Foundation’s efforts in the development of community aged-care systems and active ageing framework. His interests include primary care for frail seniors, multi-disciplinary health teams, comprehensive needs assessment standards, elder mistreatment, end-of-life care, community-based dementia care as well as community care management system.

Mr Peter Bewert, Executive Manager - Care Services, The Salvation Army Aged Care Plus, Australia

Peter is a Registered Nurse who has worked in a number of strategic and operational roles within the Aged Care Industry. He is currently the Executive Manager – Care Services for the Salvation Army Aged Care Plus. In addition to his industry roles he has held the position of Acting Director of the Aged care Complaints Scheme within the Office of Aged Care Quality and Compliance - Queensland State Office, Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA). During this period he was instrumental in the development and implementation of the new Aged Care Complaints Scheme in 2011. 

Peter’s experience within both industry and regulatory settings has provided him with skills in strategic planning from a regulatory and industry perspective based within a risk management framework. This has provided him with the ability to implement sound business judgement and understand that effective strategic decision making involves more than avoiding decision errors. His experience has provided him with the ability to analyse business issues and situations, synthesize those elements into a cohesive and coherent holistic picture, and generate options for decision based on that synthesis.
