Inspiring your team: Why cultivating employee engagement matters

Many studies that show that employees who are engaged, happy and purpose-driven tend to deliver better productivity and financial outcomes for companies. But with the demands of scaling and growing a business, how do you cultivate a company culture that ensures every employee is empowered to do their best work? What are the strategies, insights and tools to drive engagement with a new generation of talent? Our experts and business leaders discuss how inspired and passionate teams drive tangible and successful business results.

10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. Workshop: Global Legal Trends

Starting your business was the easy part…now you want to grow it, but there are so many legal factors to consider! Where do you start? Ryan Garcia, Dell Legal, will lead a panel of seasoned international attorneys from Hogan Lovells to answer your most pressing questions – how to negotiate cloud computing contracts, managing and protecting your data, financing your company, building a workforce in a time of changing immigration regulation and options for exiting for your venture – either through sales or IPOs.

11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. DWEN Unconference

This unconventional and unstructured forum empowers you to share your expertise through the unfiltered exchange of information and ideas. With your help, we will create the afternoon’s agenda in real-time to allow for interactive, open discussions on topics you care most about. During the Idea Generation period, anyone who wants to initiate a discussion can propose a topic – whether to share expertise, search for new ideas or learn from others. The agenda is built as topics are proposed and assigned a time slot. This high-energy environment will amplify your ideas and spark new ones.

Also, in this session, Dell’s Ryan Garcia will talk about the big ideas and themes that emerged during our Unconference. And we’ll have one of the favorite sessions at DWEN where our Girls Track participants will pitch the business ideas they’ve developed over the last day and a half!
