Glenn Copeland is the State Registrar for Michigan within the Michigan Department of Community Health. In addition to his work in the vital statistics area, he serves as the Director of the Michigan Cancer Surveillance Program and as the Director of the Michigan Birth Defects Registries. His work includes overseeing Michigan’s vital records systems and monitoring access to confidential health event data by researchers and facilitating use of the data by public health program staff.

He is the Immediate Past President of the National Birth Defects Prevention Network and currently serves on the board of the National Association of Public Health Statistics and Information Systems. Mr. Copeland has an MBA from Ohio University with a concentration in Quantitative Methods.

John Paulson is the statistical analysis supervisor in Ohio Department Health, Office of Vital Statistics. His office assures collected vital records data are complete and accurate and develops the statistical files for analytical work in public health and for other uses. The Office of Vital Statistics disseminates these datasets to qualified users.

Mr. Paulson has worked in Ohio Department of Health for past three decades in a variety of areas. His education consists of an undergraduate degree from Duke University and a Master of Science in Preventive Medicine from The Ohio State University.

Patricia W. Potrzebowski, PhD has been the Executive Director of the National Association for Public Health Statistics and Information Systems for the past four years. Previously, Dr. Potrzebowski served as the Director, Bureau of Health Statistics and Research at the Pennsylvania Department of Health, where she worked for more than 35 years.

Dr. Potrzebowski received her doctorate from the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh. She is a former President of NAPHSIS, chaired the Panel to Evaluate the U.S. Standard Certificates that created the 2003 revised certificates, and was also a member of the 2011 Model Law Revision Work Group.
