GENERAL QUESTIONS 

Q - WHERE IS THE CONFERENCE BEING HELD?
A – This year’s Conference is being held at the Hotel Panamericano Buenos Aires, Carlos Pellegrini 551, 1009, Buenos Aires, Argentina

Q - WHEN IS THE CONFERENCE?
A – This year’s Conference runs from Sunday 27th of October to Friday 1st of November. You can check-in on Saturday 26th October and avoid the queues!

Q - IS THERE AN AGENDA FOR THE EVENT?
A –Whilst our Call for Papers remains open we do not have a detailed programme to share. For planning purposes a summary agenda is as follows: 
  • Saturday 26th October – Registration  / Check-In
  • Sunday 27th October – Pre-Conference / Registration / Check-In / Welcome Reception 
  • Monday 28th October – Plenary and Workshop Sessions / Host Reception 
  • Tuesday 29th October - Plenary and Workshop Sessions / Distinguished Scholar Lecture / ICPA Annual General Meeting 
  • Wednesday 30th October - Plenary and Workshop Sessions / ICPA Correctional Excellence Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner
  • Thursday 31st October - Plenary and Workshop Sessions 
  • Friday 1st November – Facility Visits 
Q - IS THERE A DRESS CODE FOR THE CONFERENCE OR EVENING ACTIVITIES?
A – We want you to be comfortable. Although we don’t stipulate a dress code we suggest smart business-casual attire during conference sessions. For the Wednesday evening Gala Dinner we encourage National Dress - whatever you prefer, it’s an opportunity to dress up for a memorable night!

Q – DO I NEED A VISA TO VISIT ARGENTINA?
A – Yes, depending on your country of origin. For more information and costs contact your local embassy. Please ensure that you have also checked visa/entry requirements for any transit countries you may be passing through.*Please note that ICPA are not responsible for applying for Visas on behalf of delegates. 

Q – I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CONFIRMATION EMAIL FOR MY REGISTRATION?
A - Please check your Junk/Spam/Clutter mailboxes as sometimes ICPA Conference emails can be diverted there.  Please add icpa2019@icpa.org to your known addresses as a way to avoid this.



COMPANION PROGRAMME 

Q - WILL THERE BE A COMPANION PROGRAMME THIS YEAR?
A – Yes, ICPA have organised a programme which will run from Tuesday 29th – Thursday 31st October for companions of our conference delegates.

Q - WHAT IS THE COST FOR THE COMPANION PROGRAMME?
A – The cost of the companion programme is USD$450.

Q - HOW DO I REGISTER MY PARTNER FOR THE COMPANION PROGRAMME?
A – During your registration process you will be asked if you wish to add a companion to your registration, click 'Yes' and the cost will be added to your registration.  If you have already made your registration and wish to add a companion, please email our team at icpa2019@icpa.org

Q - CAN I BRING MORE THAN ONE COMPANION?
A – Our online system only allows you to register one additional guest for the Companion Programme. If you need additional places simply send our team an email to arrange - icpa2019@icpa.org. 

Q - CAN COMPANIONS ATTEND THE CONFERENCE SESSIONS?
A – No. Access to conference sessions is for registered delegates only. However, companions may join you on the evening receptions and Gala Dinner. 

Q - WHAT IF MY ORGANISATION IS PAYING FOR MY REGISTRATION AND I NEED TO PAY FOR THE COMPANION PROGRAMME SEPARATELY?
A – Not a problem!  Go ahead and complete the registration process as normal and do not pay online.  Then email our team at icpa2019@icpa.org and you will be issued 2 separate invoices. 




REGISTRATION 

Q - HOW DO I REGISTER FOR THE CONFERENCE?
A – Registration is easy. Simply visit www.icpa.org/buenosaires2019 and complete the registration form online. You can choose to pay immediately via our secure online payment page or request an invoice (payable within 30 days). 

Q - HOW MUCH DOES CONFERENCE REGISTRATION COST?
A –We have an early-bird rate which ends on 31st August at 2300GMT. The rates are as follows (in US dollars):

Early Bird Rate - ICPA members - $ 850

Early Bird Rate - Non-Member - $ 900

After 31st August - ICPA Member Rate - $ 925

After 31st August - Non-member Rate - $ 975

Day Pass (per day) - $350

Please note that Day Passes do not include Facility Tours or the Gala Dinner. The option to purchase a Gala Dinner ticket for $100 is available during the registration process.


Q - WHEN DOES THE EARLY BIRD RATE FINISH?
A – To be eligible for the early bird rates you must register and pay in full prior to 31st of August 2018.  

Q – I NEED TO CANCEL MY REGISTRATION. WHAT DO I DO?
A – Email our team on icpa2019@icpa.org . Remember to cancel early otherwise a cancellation fee may apply. Also remember to cancel your accommodation booking as ICPA is not responsible for these arrangements. 

Q – I HAVE MADE A MISTAKE DURING REGISTRATION. CAN I FIX THIS?
A – Using the details on your confirmation email you received after registering, you can access and modify your booking online under the Registration section of our conference website.

Q – IS THERE A FEE FOR CANCELLING MY REGISTRATION?
A - Yes. Please note that there is a charge for the late cancellation of your conference registration*.
For cancellations between 1st August and 15th October 2019 there will be a fee of US$75
For cancellations between 16th October and 22nd October 2019 there will be a fee of US$150
Registrations that are not cancelled in advance 'no-shows' are non-refundable.

Any unpaid conference registrations will become void on 15th October 2019

*These charges are applied to offset administrative costs and advance orders made in preparation for this conference




ACCOMMODATION 

Q - WHAT HOTEL DO YOU RECOMMEND?
A – For convenience we suggest staying at the conference venue, the Hotel Panamericano Buenos Aires and take advantage of the special rate being offered to ICPA delegates.

Q – HOW DO I GET THE SPECIAL RATE AT THE HOTEL PANAMERICANO BUENOS AIRES?
A – Book with the hotel prior to 30th of June 2018. Check our website www.icpa.org/buenosaires2019 section on Accommodation for further details.



SPEAKERS 

Q – I WILL BE PRESENTING AT THE CONFERENCE. DO I HAVE TO REGISTER?
A – Yes. All presenters must register for the conference for security and safety reasons.  If you do not have an ICPA issued badge, you will not be able to enter the conference. No exceptions.

Q – I WANT TO PRESENT AT THE CONFERENCE. WILL MY REGISTRATION FEE BE WAIVED?
A – No. ICPA does not cover the travel, accommodation or registration fees of speakers attending the conference.  



EXHIBITION 

Q – CAN I RESERVE A BOOTH IN THE EXHIBITION AREA?
A – Yes but be quick! We have a very limited area for exhibition booths. Email our team at icpa2019@icpa.org for pricing, options and reservations.

Q - HOW DO I SHIP ITEMS TO THE EVENT VENUE?
A - Exhibitors will receive a Conference Benefits Checklist .  Please refer to this documents for shipping information.
