Every year CSC loads up a bus, or more recently buses, full of delegates. We drive around southern Ontario, get out, walk around for an hour and then get back into traffic. It has worked. We've seen some cool stores and facilities. But there have always been problems. Geographically we're nailed to a wall. With one foot pinned to our hotel we were never going to see the latest trends in Victoria, or Montreal, or anywhere else in this giant beautiful country of ours'.
WELL THAT JUST WON'T DO
CSC has been sending Managing Director Greg McPherson from one side of Canada to another for the past two years. While he has seen some incredible stores and creative solutions, we think it is time that you saw what the rest of Canada has to offer as well. That's the idea behind SHOP! Virtual Tours. We want to let you see what your Canadian peers are up to. But how do we do it? We've already got a picture repository with thousands of photos on it. Isn't that good enough?
NO! WE WANT IT IN 3D!!
That's why we want to award one store with a professional, 3D 360° tour of their store. This prize is being awarded to whoever we judge to have the best solution to their retail challenge. That could be great signage, cool merchandising, exceptional brand delivery, whatever problem you have and are solving in a way that we think is the best. This solution, along with all of your store will then be featured during the SHOP! Virtual Tour session. But you won't be alone, the top three will be featured, but the winning entry will be in stunning virtual reality.
HOW TO ENTER
STEP 1 - TAKE A (LOT OF) PHOTO(S)
Wander around your store. Look at all the little problems you've been solving over the years with better signage, cooler displays and better products. Take an excessive number of photos of all of them. Think on which one you are most proud of.
STEP 2 - UPLOAD THE PHOTOS
Once you've gotten your idea captured, it's time to upload it into the CSC picture repository. For this you'll need to login to the CSC member's area, find the picture repository on the right menu and either upload your photos into your institution or add your institution (click add category at the top of the page).
STEP 3 - FILL OUT THE ENTRY FORM
To the right you'll see a button that says "SHOP! Entry form" you'll want to click that button, fill in the pdf and click submit to mail a copy to our contest judges. Make sure you reference the photos that are on the picture repository by the photo's name. Otherwise there is a small possibility that we'll never find your photos.
WHAT DO I WIN?
The winning entry will get a store tour captured by Method Visual. This includes 360° capture of your store, placement on Google Maps for an interior tour of the store, a 15 minute feature during the SHOP! Virtual Tours portion of the conference, and registration for one member of your store so that they can be present.
