Hydropower - here for Good!

The BHA Annual Conference is our flagship event and the essential forum for the UK hydropower sector to share experiences, debate key issues, review improvements and consider future opportunities for the industry. We are delighted to deliver our 17th Annual Conference this year where attendees will engage with some of hydropower's leading experts and practitioners.

Hydropower is the World's leading renewable energy resource and the oldest method of harnessing clean power; the first waterwheels were used over 200 years ago. Hydropower has been around for a long time and is definitely here for good.

Our two-day conference and exhibition in Glasgow will celebrate this longevity through an inspiring and diverse conference programme, a popular technical exhibition and a stimulating conference dinner, providing a terrific opportunity to network and relax with delegates, colleagues and friends. During the festivities, the winners of our new BHA Hydro Awards will be announced, and Dave Williams, well known from the Edinburgh Fringe and The Comedy Club, will provide after-dinner entertainment.

"Beyond 2019" workshop

We are holding a "Beyond 2019" workshop on the 8th November after the final conference session of the day, from 17:45 to 19:00. This is an opportunity for members to have their say about how the UK government can continue to support small-scale hydro after the FiT scheme is closed to new entrants in March 20019.  Click HERE for further information. To book your place at this workshop, please contact Simon Hamlyn.
