After the Event ...

Thank you to everyone who took part: both at the event and on Twitter #BDAlive.

Situated at an amazing venue Vinopolis in London, BDA Live contained inspirational after inspirational speaker and thought-provoking discussions from delegates. The speakers were of a high calibre and the call to arms for boosting dietetic evidence base, practice and external perception was clearly heard.

Over the two days delegates tweeted, talked, consulted, discussed, reflected and questioned the science and practice of behaviour change through diverse topics such as protein requirements, research, leadership, school food, branding, sustainable diets, storytelling and obesity and many more.

This was a revolutionary and paperless conference, with Social Media buzzing at BDA Live. Our two Twitter accounts, @BrDieteticAssoc and @BDALive working overtime to capture the flavour of every session. Following the #BDALive twitter feed was an excellent way to keep up to date with parallel sessions, highlight specific information and generate discussion.

A total of 3,268 tweets with a ‘reach’ of 229,156 were sent out over the two days.

Comments included:

“I only started tweeting for #BDALive – getting used to it now” from @Nic_RD_AHP

"We had some fab feedback from former skeptics this morning so it looks like it went down very well. Thanks from all @BDA_Live” from @beansprout01

Trust a Dietitian

Trust a Dietitian logoThe British Dietetic Association (BDA) launched a brand new exciting campaign called Trust a Dietitian at the flagship event, BDA Live, in London on Friday (11th October) at the Vinopolis conference venue.

Trust a Dietitian is a campaign that will highlight the work and value of dietitians and the dietetic profession as a whole in the UK. The campaign will also use an online platform (www.TrustADietitian.co.uk) to house numerous resources and information for dietitians and members of the public to access to get a better understanding of the work of dietitians and the value they add to making the nation a healthier nation.

UK’s No.1 PR agency to deliver
‘Building the Dietitian Brand’ at BDA Live & Online

We’re delighted to confirm BDA Live & Online has secured a speaker to front a very special session at the conference in October. Hill + Knowlton Strategies have just been named the number one large PR agency in the UK (PR Week, August 2013).  We can reveal that their most senior trainer is going to run a specially tailored session at BDA Live on why dietitians have to take the bull by the horns and build their brand. Brand RD if you like. The session will involve a unique insight from one of the most respected global PR agencies, offering tailored advice to dietitians.

click for BDA Live & Online websiteYou won’t get that anywhere else. It is 100% exclusive to BDA Live and this session will never have been delivered before. Truly, a once in a career opportunity.

In addition to this, delegates will be offering one to one private consultations and meetings with key Hill + Knowlton staff, for FREE.  A real opportunity worth hundreds of pounds not to be missed that will give you actual actions and tasks to take with you.

This is not a conference speech: This is a call to arms: to get Brand RD maximised and to place dietitians as the gold standard when it comes to nutrition professionals.

So whether you are a dietitian with an eye on PR opportunities, or whether you are a dietitian looking to get your service commissioned in the NHS, this session will deliver on both counts.
