Travel to Bath

Travelling to Bath


By Rail

Bath Spa train station is located in Baths town center, only a short walk from the local shops and restaurants.

Bath Spa is easily accessible from both London Paddington and London Waterloo with direct trains running through out the day with an approximate 90 minute journey.

Bristol Temple Mead is just a 15 train journey from Bath Spa and which is a major station for national travel.


By Road

Bath is located just 10 miles from junction 18 on the M4 motorway which directly connects to London and Heathrow,

Additionally there are excellent motorway links from the North and South West from the M5 motorway.  

As Bath is a small city roads can become congested at busy periods and weekends, the city offers a park and ride service at various points throughout the city to access the city center, from here the Bath Assembly Rooms are easily accessible via taxi or public transport, for more information about the bath park and ride services click here


By Coach



Bath is easily accessible via coach, National Express offer coaches for most major cities in the country. Frequent services are offered from Victoria Coach Station and Gatwick Airport. 

Drop off points in Bath include North Parade and Terrace Walk, these will be reached before the coach parks.


By Air



The A4 from Bristol Airport to Bath Bus service provides a direct link from Bristol Airport to Bath. the service has various stops including Saltford, Keynsham and South Bristol, the journey takes approximately 1 hour 

Travelling from Heathrow
Heathrow is approximately 100 miles East of Bath, regular National Express Coaches operate direct services to Bath, additionally Heathrow Express train services go directly to London Paddington where a direct train link is available.

Travelling from Gatwick 
Gatwick is approximately 140 miles East of Bath, regular Nation Express Coaches operate direct services to Bath, additionally Gatwick Trains operate to Reading where a direct train is available to Bath
