British and Irish passport holders do not require visas to enter Singapore for a stay of less than one month and meet the entry requirements as mentioned above. 

All holders of special/non-regular travel documents are to email the Singapore High Commission in London for entry/visa requirements at singhc_con_lon@mfa.sg stating the type of travel document (e.g. British Travel Document, UK Certificate of Travel) before making any plans to Singapore. 

Visa application is required for citizens / passport holders of the following countries:

Nationals of Assessment Level I Countries
Georgia, India, Myanmar, People’s Republic of China, Commonwealth of Independent States (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan), Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Holders of Hong Kong Document of Identity and Holders of Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Travel Permit 
Nationals of Assessment Level II Countries 
Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia and Yemen

To make your trip to Singapore as enjoyable as possible, here is some general information to take note of before you leave.

Currency
The Singapore dollar is used here and notes come in denominations of S$2, S$5, S$10, S$50, S$100, S$1,000 and S$10,000. Coins come in 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents and S$1.

Weather
Singapore is hot and humid all year-round, with temperature usually reaching over 30 degree celsius.
Hottest Months: May and June (34 degree celsius)
Coolest Months: December and January (24 degree celsius)

Language
You will be able to speak English to Singaporeans, most of whom are fluent in it. Many Singaporeans also speak an additional language, usually Mandarin Chinese, Malay or Tamil.

Tipping
Tipping is encouraged when you experience good service, and this would be above the standard 10 percent gratuity to your bill added by some restaurants and hotels.

No Smoking Areas
You are not allowed to smoke in all air-conditioned places, such as malls and eateries. There are designated smoking areas in some entertainment outlets and open-air eateries.

Safe Drinking Water
You can drink water straight from the tap as the water in Singapore passes World Health Organization standards. You can also buy bottled water easily.
