Over her eight years there, she not only managed multibillion dollar portfolios of external hedge funds for the Quantum group of funds and George Soros, but also built the manager selection and due diligence processes as well as the multi-manager portfolio construction and monitoring methodologies. Prior to Soros Fund Management, she held positions at Bankers Trust, Citicorp and JP Morgan, primarily as a manager in Global Sales and Trading. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School Foundation Board, the Board of Directors of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and the President’s Council of the Peconic Land Trust. Arthur M. Arthur is also a Partner at SmartQuant, LLC, a leading financial technology firm that produces an end-to-end software infrastructure and cloud-based services for developing, testing, and trading of algorithmic strategies across many markets, instrument types and trading frequencies. Earlier, Arthur was the Head of Macro Volatility Strategies at Capital Fund Management, and held senior strategy and research positions at BlueMountain Capital Management, Lehman Brothers and Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Dr. Berd is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Investment Strategies, and is also the co-founder and coordinator of the quantitative finance section of http://arxiv.org, a global electronic research repository with over 2000 papers covering topics from portfolio and risk management, to trading and market microstructure, to securities pricing and mathematical and statistical finance methods. An author of more than 30 publications and a frequently invited speaker at major industry conferences, Dr. Berd edited the book “Lessons from the Financial Crisis” (RiskBooks, 2010, 2013). He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Stanford University.
 
Barbara Ann Bernard

Barbara Ann Bernard is the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Wincrest Capital, a value-oriented global long/short equity firm. Formerly, Ms. Bernard was a research analyst for nearly a decade at Holowesko Partners, a global long-short equity hedge fund where she was responsible for generating, recommending and monitoring investment ideas for the fund. Prior to Holowesko Partners, Ms. Bernard was responsible for global long-short equity manager selection for Deutsche Bank’s Fund of Hedge Fund business in London. Ms. Bernard began her career as an analyst in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs in London. Ms. Bernard graduated from the London School of Economics with a Bachelor of Science.
 
Keith Black

Keith Black has over twenty-five years of financial market experience, serving approximately half of that time as an academic and half as a trader and consultant to institutional investors. He currently serves as Managing Director of Curriculum and Exams for the CAIA Association. During his most recent role at Ennis Knupp + Associates, Keith advised foundations, endowments and pension funds on their asset allocation and manager selection strategies in hedge funds, commodities, and managed futures. Prior experience includes commodities derivatives trading, stock options research and CBOE floor trading, and building quantitative stock selection models for mutual funds and hedge funds. Dr. Black previously served as an assistant professor and senior lecturer at the Illinois Institute of Technology.

He contributes regularly to The CFA Digest, and has published in The Journal of Wealth Management, The Journal of Trading, The Journal of Investing, and The Journal of Alternative Investments, among others. He is the author of the book “Managing a Hedge Fund,” as well as the co-author of the 2012 and 2015/2016 second and third editions of the CAIA Level I and Level II textbooks. Dr. Black was named to the Institutional Investor magazine’s list of “Rising Stars of Hedge Funds” in 2010.

Dr. Black earned a BA from Whittier College, an MBA for Carnegie Mellon University, and a PhD from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and was a member of the inaugural class of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) candidates.
 
Adam Blitz

Mr. Blitz is the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Investment Officer, a Principal, a member of the Investment Committee of Evanston Capital Management, LLC, and a member of its Board of Managers. He has over fifteen years of institutional investment management experience with an emphasis in quantitative analysis, trading and risk management. Prior to helping establish Evanston Capital Management, Mr. Blitz worked in the Prime Brokerage area at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he was responsible for developing, selling, and managing funding and financing products to offer to hedge funds. He also worked closely with the risk management group within Prime Brokerage, which is responsible for determining the appropriate amount of leverage to extend to hedge funds from both a regulatory and risk-based perspective. Before joining Goldman Sachs, Mr. Blitz was the Head Trader at AQR Capital Management, a multi-strategy quantitative investment manager. At AQR, Mr. Blitz was responsible for implementing all of AQR’s market-neutral strategies and traded a wide variety of financial instruments, including equities, bonds, currencies, futures, and swaps. Mr. Blitz also assisted in risk management and strategy research at AQR, including extensive modeling and analysis of strategy and fund-level volatilities and correlations. Mr. Blitz also was previously employed in the Asset Management Division at Goldman Sachs, where he was a member of the Quantitative Research group. Mr. Blitz received his B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. He serves as a member of the Board of Advisors of Northwestern University’s School of Education and Social Policy, is a CFA charterholder, and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago.

She is also a member of ZAIS’s Management Advisory Committee. Since joining ZAIS, Ms. Crowley has been actively involved in the MBS, CLO and CDO security markets since 1999. Previously, Ms. Crowley managed a HY credit fund for ZAIS. Before joining ZAIS in August of 1997, Ms. Crowley worked at JPMorgan in the High Yield Trading Group. Before JPMorgan, she worked for Hon. Paul Crowley

From 2013 to 2015, Paul Crowley was Director of Quantitative Strategies for Visium Asset Management LLC. As such, Mr. Crowley managed a team of portfolio managers who deployed quantitative strategies on behalf of the Visium Global Fund. Mr. Crowley was responsible for hiring, capital allocation, and infrastructure development. From 2000 to 2005, Mr. Crowley ran a high-frequency, algorithmic trading desk for Millennium Partners.  Mr. Crowley left Millennium in 2005 to found Gradient Fund Management LLC, a hedge fund management firm engaged in high-frequency, algorithmic trading of U.S. equity securities.  Mr. Crowley created and managed all aspects of Gradient’s business, including research, development, information technology, market data, trading, order routing, and various business functions.  After closing Gradient in 2008, Mr. Crowley served as COO and Director of Research for KIP Management, a hedge fund management firm similarly involved in high-frequency, algorithmic trading. More recently, Mr. Crowley was a Managing Director of Magnitude Capital, LLC, where he developed and managed Magnitude’s managed account infrastructure as well as its information infrastructure. From 1994 to 2000, Mr. Crowley held various roles within UBS and its predecessor organizations, initially managing equity derivative research globally and later leading the development of algorithms and systems for principal program trading. His prior experience includes two years at Barra, six years at McKinsey & Company, and two years at Morgan Stanley. Mr. Crowley received his M.B.A. from Harvard University in 1985. He graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Physics in 1981, also from Harvard University.

Prior to founding Brigade, Mr. Kelly spent 24 years at Salomon Brothers, Salomon Smith Barney and Citigroup as a Managing Director. While at Salomon Brothers, Mr. Kelly led several key initiatives, including the development and relocation of the interest rate swap business from corporate finance to sales and trading. Mr. Kelly served as Global Product Sales Manager for all over-the-counter derivatives at Salomon Brothers. Additionally, Mr. Kelly served on the ISDA board, which Salomon Brothers helped create in 1985. During his tenure as the head of high yield sales, Salomon Smith Barney achieved the number one position in the market. Mr. Kelly serves as a Board Trustee for The Partnership for Inner-City Education. Mr. Kelly is a Founding Member of the Boston College Wall Street Council and formerly served on the Board of Directors of the New York City Police and Fire Widows' and Children's Fund. Christian Lee joined IUAM in October 2011 from LyonRoss Capital an investment management firm specializing in hedge funds and portable alpha strategies. He brings over 22 years of alternative and derivative strategies experience to Itaú. He was a partner serving as PM and later Chief Risk Officer at LyonRoss (formerly Bassini Playfair) from 2007 to 2011 in charge of the portfolio construction of their hedge fund and portable alpha portfolio. From 2005 to 2007 he launched and co-managed the Alphanumeric hedge fund specializing in volatility and commodity arbitrage strategies at Bassini Playfair & Wright. Additionally, he is a driving force behind the Magnetar Youth Investment Academy, an innovative high school-based financial education program now in more than 150 Chicago high school classrooms that has reached over 10,000 teens. He currently serves on Visiting Committees at both universities. While at MIT, Litowitz became the first All-American squash player in the school’s history.

Joseph Naggar

Joseph Naggar is a partner, senior portfolio manager and head of structured products at GoldenTree Asset Management. He is also a member of GoldenTree's executive committee and chairs the firm's risk committee. GoldenTree expanded its efforts investing in structured products in 2007 with the hiring of Naggar, who has been instrumental in building the firm's structured-products investment team. Under his direction, GoldenTree built some of the most sophisticated, proprietary systems to analyze opportunities in structured products, which integrate firm proprietary knowledge of single name credits into its analysis. Prior to GoldenTree, Naggar was a managing director at Morgan Stanley. He serves on the advisory board of the MIT Center for Finance and Policy. Naggar has a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Pennsylvania State University through the University Scholars program and an M.B.A. with a concentration in financial engineering from the MIT Sloan School of Business.

Prior to joining MassPRIM in 2012, Eric was an equity portfolio manager at Lee Munder Capital Group and Independence Investments. Eric was named to CIO Magazine’s “Forty Under 40” list of investment professionals in 2014. Institutional Investor awarded Eric with its “Hedge Fund Plan of the Year” distinction in 2016. Eric also serves as Adjunct Professor of Finance at Brandeis International Business School in Waltham, Massachusetts, where he teaches graduate level courses in Options & Derivatives and Behavioral Finance. He received the 2013 "Excellence in Teaching Award" at Brandeis. Eric previously served on the Board of Trustees of The Sage School in Foxborough, Massachusetts, as well as the Worcester Regional Airport Commission, and works on volunteer projects for Harvard Business School Community Action Partners. Eric received his Ph.D. in Business Economics from Harvard University, and also earned his M.A. degree in Economics from Harvard. Previously, Mr. Rabinowitz was employed at Ernst & Young for seven years as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) focused on hedge funds and asset management and broker-dealers. He supervised and conducted audits and oversaw consulting engagements in the financial services industry. He currently also co-founded The R Baby Foundation which has raised several million dollars for children's hospitals in the U.S. Mr. Rabinowitz holds his J.D. in Law from Fordham University School of Law and a B.B.A. in Accounting from Pace University, magna cum laude. Prior to moving to the sell-side, he spent a number of years as a Vice-President at Moody’s Investors’ Service in New York and London, with responsibility for investment-grade, high yield and emerging markets credits. Duncan began his career at Morgan Guaranty. He graduated from Oxford University with an MA in Medieval and Modern Languages and an Open Scholarship at St. Edmund Hall, Oxford.
