2:00 pm - 4:00 pmExecutive Roundtable - The Cloud Is Ready for the Enterprise

Moderated by Lou Bertin, CIO magazine Contributing Editor

Sponsored by T-Systems

By now, many enterprises are using some variation of a cloud environment and for good reason.  Most experts agree that cloud environments will bring substantial cost savings approaching 30 percent or more. Equally important,  enterprises can also benefit from cloud services that are capable of providing consumption and  therefore cost metrics that enable management by fact-based usage and the needs of the enterprise.  And best of all, fixed IT costs can now be transformed into variable costs that flex with the needs of the organization.

According to most enterprise IT professionals, the main challenges to widespread cloud adoption can be found in three key topics; data security, integration and people. In other words:

  • “How do I know that mission critical data is secure?”
  • “How do I know that I can integrate and transition a cloud solution into my IT landscape without disruption?”
  • “How will this impact my people should I choose an outsourced cloud solution?”

We invite you to join us for a roundtable discussion where you can learn more about how secure private cloud solutions are delivering mission critical workloads such as SAP; how private cloud solutions accommodate proven transition and transformation process that deliver seamless transitions from legacy environments, and how the cloud is making good on its promise of increased savings and improved security.

1:30 pm - 2:30 pmBeyond the Big Idea: Executing on Innovation
Chris Trimble, Author and Professor, Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College

A football game isn’t scored on the kickoff alone. A musical symphony doesn't become a classic based on its opening score. Both are merely good starts. The same principle applies to great ideas. Yet when companies launch innovation initiatives, they often focus more time and energy on the hunt for that breakthrough idea than on actually turning those ideas into breakthrough products, services and process improvements. In this inspiring opening keynote, business professor and author Chris Trimble ("The Other Side of Innovation: Solving the Execution Challenge") draws on 10 years of research and examples from enterprises such as Allstate, Timberland and Harley-Davidson to show you how to select and build a great innovation team. He’ll offer practical and provocative advice to take you step-by-step through the innovation execution process to the satisfying moment when big ideas reach their full potential.

Who’s Driving Your Business Analytics?
Bob Melk, Senior Vice President and Group Publisher, IDG Enterprise

Does it matter who’s in charge of your business analytics projects? Your fellow IT leaders told us resoundingly “yes!” in a recent survey, the vast majority saying IT and business should have equal ownership over business analytics projects. But the reality is fewer than 40% of organizations share that responsibility. That represents a big missed opportunity. Don’t miss this session, where you’ll learn how shared BA ownership drives agility, efficiency and market responsiveness; why the Executive-IT alliance for analytics is so powerful; and what IT can do to forge and nurture those relationships for competitive advantage.

If your business changes, your processes can keep pace. From global expansion and organizational changes to divesting and M&A, only the Cloud can provide your organization with agility to gain a real competitive advantage. Join former HB Fuller and now Workday CIO Steven John in this expert session as he shares the advantages his company saw from implementing cloud solutions.
