Register now for the Fall Petfood Innovation Workshop & K-State Pet Food Experience

Registration is now open for Petfood Innovation Workshop and Kansas State University's Pet Food Experience, to be held on September 13-15, 2016 in Manhattan, Kansas. This two-day event will consist of hands-on and seminar-style learning, infused with the Kansas State University college experience. Day one will consist of educational sessions led by the K-State Pet Food Program team, in which they will showcase their latest pet food research and expertise. Day two will be the hands-on workshop portion of the event, focusing on the creation of high-impact pet food products, featuring meat and novel proteins.

Register for Petfood Innovation Workshop

NOTE:
To ensure the quality of the hands-on experience, capacity is limited to the first 200 registrants. Availability is first-come, first served.

Some of the features you'll find at this event include:

  • The opportunity to conduct job or internship interviews with students in the brand new Kansas State Career Center
  • A new agenda and a variety of networking opportunities, such as a possible dine-around event at local Manhattan restaurants
  • The opportunity to engage and learn from the Kansas State Pet Food Program team, as they share their insight and latest research on various pet food trends and topics

Proteins are a hot category in the marketplace, and as pet food becomes more competitive with human food, we need to get more creative with sourcing sustainable ways to provide high impact meat and alternative protein products. Demonstrators will show how meat and other proteins react with other ingredients and binders, the effect of adding meat as an ingredient has on nutritional value and how technology can most effectively be utilized to address food safety challenges.
