Special needs groups - Understanding the needs of Care Leavers and how we can we best support them in aged care

CLAN is a national independent peak membership body which represents and advocates for people who were raised in Australian orphanages, children's Homes and foster care. CLAN offers free telephone or face to face counselling.  CLAN provides information about the Royal commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse and how to get involved.  We also support Care leavers to go to the Royal Commission.  We send out a bi-monthly newsletter, the "Clanicle".

CLAN holds Social events in all states.  We help care leavers to obtain their state ward or Home files.  We help Care Leavers to write their personal story.  CLAN offers free advertising in the newsletter and on the website to locate lost family members or Home friends.

CLAN advocates and lobby on issues relating to Care Leaver services in all states so that we do not remain Forgotten Australians
