Safe Schools Coalition Australia is the first national coalition dedicated to creating safer and more inclusive schools for same sex attracted, intersex and gender diverse young people.
Join us at the 2014 National Safe Schools Symposium to launch Safe Schools Coalition Australia and help us create the best possible educational environments for all students and teachers. Bringing together principals, teachers, school staff and young people with community and government partners – we will use our collective courage, imagination and will to create change in Australian classrooms and beyond.
Safe Schools Coalition Australia is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education. Safe Schools Coalition Victoria is also funded by the Victorian Government. Safe Schools Coalition Australia is nationally convened by the Foundation for Young Australians and builds on the highly successful Safe Schools Coalition Victoria model developed in 2010.

- seminars from experts in the field
- workshops to show you how to make your school inclusive of gender diversity, become a student-changemaker, use your personal story for influence, or explore discrimination through theater
- case studies, stories and ideas from young people who are already making a difference
- presentations from Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Education Senator the Hon Scott Ryan, federal leader of the ALP in the Senate Penny Wong, footballer Jason Ball, and other community leaders
- opportunities to network, make new friends from around the country, and plan action with people in your area
