Thank you to everyone who submitted to our Call for Proposals!

Deadline for Submission was November 13, 2013.  Any questions can be emailed to cns@buksa.com

Please note the Call for Abstracts is now closed. However, if you missed the abstracts submission deadline, there is still an opportunity to submit a late-breaking abstract! If accepted, late-breaking abstracts will be for poster presentation at the conference and will be included in an abstracts booklet made available to delegates online. Please note that late-breaking abstracts will not be considered for awards and will not be published in APNM. There is a non-refundable fee of $40 to submit a late-breaking abstract. If you would like to submit your abstract, please e-mail Lindsay Robinson at lrobinso@uoguelph.ca no later than April 18, 2014.

You are invited to submit abstracts for poster or oral presentation at the Canadian Nutrition Society Conference taking place June 5-7, 2014 in St. John’s, Newfoundland. A limited number of abstracts will be selected for oral presentation, dependent on program timing.

Please read this call for abstracts carefully before submitting.

There are no restrictions on the submission of abstracts. Non-members should consider joining CNS in order to start gaining membership benefits that will last the entire year. There is a $40 non-refundable fee for each abstract submission (online credit card payment by Visa or MasterCard only).

Abstract Submission Deadline: Monday, February 10, 2014.
Note: This deadline is FIRM for consideration for publication in Applied Physiology, Nutrition and Metabolism and for those authors wishing to be considered for any awards (see below).

Notification Date: Friday, March 7, 2014
The abstract committee will make the final decision regarding the presentation format for each abstract. Presenting authors will be notified regarding presentation format and will have the right to accept or decline at that time.

PROCESS
Abstracts will be reviewed and authors of abstracts accepted for the conference will be contacted via email by Friday, March 7, 2014. The abstract committee will make the final decision regarding the presentation format for each abstract. Presenting authors will be notified regarding presentation format and will have the right to accept or decline at that time.

All selected abstracts will be published in the journal Applied Physiology, Nutrition and Metabolism (APNM). A link to the journal issue will be made available online during the conference. Note: abstracts must be submitted by Monday February 10, 2014 to be considered for publication in APNM. Selected abstracts may also be considered for awards.

AWARD CONSIDERATION

Only CNS Members will be considered. Please indicate on the submission form if you wish to be considered for the Nestlé Student and Trainee Competition and the CNS Poster Competition.  Please note: You do not have to choose between the two competitions; simply indicate if you wish your abstract to be considered for either of these competitions this year. Students/trainees and their supervisors must both be CNS/SCN members in good standing. Those who are not already members must also submit an application with the necessary supporting documentation to CNS/SCN by March 31.
