Congress grants

The ECB16 Local Organising Committee are pleased to offer the following information in relation to potential sources of funding to assist in attendance at the forthcoming congress:

ECB16 congress grants

The congress organisers have a set aside a number of discretionary grants for students and young scientists that are selected for oral presentation.  The grants will be put towards paying for accommodation at the Congress. The criteria for selection is as follows:

  • Applicants should be either Students (Masters to pre-doctorate) or Young Scientists (within 3 years of PHD qualification)

  • Grants are awarded on the condition that an abstract is submitted for oral presentation to the congress (submission of an abstract does not automatically determine acceptance of the abstract)
To apply:
  •  Applicants must register, pay and submit an abstract to the category of their choosing

  • Applicants must tick the appropriate box stating that they are under a PhD student or under 35 at the time of the congress

  • When presented with the question “What presentation method do you prefer” applicants must select ‘Oral’

  • Once submitted, a signed statement from the applicant’s supervisor must accompany any application together with a scan of your student/staff ID should be sent to ecb16@tfigroup.com in order to complete your application.

  • Applications must be made by 31 March 2014, successful applicants will be notified by 15 April 2014.
