Nexus Australian Youth Summit 2013

Innovative Philanthropy And Social Entrepreneurship

The inaugural Nexus Australian Youth Summit on Innovative Philanthropy and Social Entrepreneurship will convene at the Ivy Ballroom in Sydney 20 – 22 October 2013.

Hosted by the Foundation for Young Australians (FYA) and jointly convened by Search for Common Ground, Nexus will bring together philanthropists, investors, social entrepreneurs and allies under the age of 40 from across Australia.

This Summit will enable participants to learn, interrogate and debate pertinent issues with their peers.  Nexus will explore innovative approaches to creating change and opportunities to collaborate for greater impact.

Nexus Australian Youth Summit 2013 Program Themes:

Philanthropy and Young People

What does the future of philanthropy look like? How can we equip young people with the passion and skills to bring about social change in their communities, and see philanthropy as a means to realising a vision for change? What characterises next gen donors and how are they engaged in philanthropy?

International and Australian Perspective

How do we learn from the world’s philanthropic landscape, and provide new perspectives on the way we develop our strategies to give and invest in Australia?

Innovation and Enterprise

How do we innovate to ensure investment in enterprise, both private and social, has true value and positive impact to the community, nation and world? How can private markets support social change? How do we know that we are making a positive social contribution? What is Australia's place in global change-making?
