Driving Business Innovation with Hybrid Cloud
This category recognizes how an organization has transformed their business by establishing a hybrid cloud strategy, shifting IT resources from maintaining existing systems to building innovative IT services that drive new revenue, improve operations and reduce risk.  Nominations considered for this category will demonstrate how the organization has improved the delivery of IT, providing a rich catalog of services to users, supporting both self-service and request approval, and automating a cloud platform for on and off premises.  
 
Judges will look for nominations to reveal how a nominated organization may have:
  • Leveraged a clearly articulated vision and cloud strategy, quantified business results and cost savings, and used the savings to support new business initiatives and/or IT transformation
  • Rapidly created and deployed services that differentiate the business
  • Unlocked IT resources to reinvest in services that advance business goals
  • Used or is planning to use a hybrid cloud model for on premise datacenter and off premise


End-User Computing in the Mobile-Cloud Era
This category recognizes how an organization has unleashed workforce productivity by delivering secure access to applications, data and services across any device, anyplace, anytime. Additional business gains, including cost savings and streamlined IT management and support, should be benefits the organization is realizing based on their desktop modernization and enterprise mobility management initiatives. Nominations considered in this category will demonstrate how an organization seamlessly and securely delivers innovative access to all end-user services across multiple devices and locations.

Judges will look for nominations that display a wide range of attributes, including:
  • Expanded number of use cases supported by desktop and application virtualization
  • Unique use cases and workloads running on virtual desktops to deliver mission-critical services 
  • Embracing the cloud, including adoption of hybrid deployments (mixed on and off premise)
  • Leadership in large-scale BYO programs or initiatives 
  • Innovative uses of mobile devices, applications and content delivery to more efficiently achieve business goals
  • Comprehensive end-user strategy that integrates existing infrastructure with emerging mobile technologies to create an intuitive and empowering workflow for users


Leveraging the Software-Defined Data Center
This category recognizes organizations that have established a Software-Defined Data Center Architecture strategy and have successfully executed against that strategy. Nominations considered in this category will demonstrate how their implementation includes virtualized infrastructure and policy-based governance leveraging hardware from different vendors, and various public cloud services. They will have demonstrated virtualization and/or automation of not only server infrastructure, but also networking, and storage -- as well as application and IT services lifecycle management -- to provide a holistic solution.

Judges will look for nominations that display a wide range of attributes, including:
  • Virtualized infrastructure delivered across pools of standard x86 hardware
  • An extensible policy-based management framework with built-in intelligence to eliminate complex and brittle management scripts
  • A software-based data center architecture that compensates for failing hardware by delivering resiliency


Transforming the Workforce with New Technologies
This category recognizes organizations that have dramatically simplified processes, improved productivity, eliminated manual and repetitive work, and demonstrated immediate impacts to business objectives through innovative application of contemporary technologies.  Nominations considered in this category will reveal how they’ve improved overall organizational performance with a well-executed and holistic technology strategy.
 
Judges will look for nominations to reveal how a nominated organization may have:
  • Created an altogether new productivity tool for most or all employees
  • Enabled one or more workforce improvement initiatives enabled by recently-deployed, modern technologies
  • Discovered new ways to lower cost through easily accessible tools made available to most or all employees
