Our guest speaker is Neil Burstein, a highly regarded expert on intellectual property, media and entertainment law matters. He has more than 20 years of legal experience dealing with high profile matters and has represented both large and small businesses, including well known celebrities, best- selling authors, Grammy award recording artists, top fashion designers, visual artists, sports figures, national retailers, restaurants, night clubs and hotels. One of his more challenging projects was negotiating the publishing and motion picture rights for the acclaimed movie “Taking Woodstock” directed by Oscar winner Ang Lee and starring Demetri Martin and Emile Hirsch.

 

Neil’s practice includes negotiating contracts and licensing agreements, internet and social media issues and advising clients on how to grow and protect their business interests by effective use of copyrights, trademarks and other intellectual property.

 

He is in wide demand to speak given his extensive experience and special knowledge of intellectual property. Neil graduated from Union College and Albany Law School of Union University and obtained a Master of Laws Degree in Trade Regulation from New York University School of Law. In addition, he has been called upon to write articles for the New York Law Journal and other publications.
