Topic: Collaborative Auditing

Internal auditors are being asked to take on new roles as we move from being “compliance police” to trusted advisors.  These new roles come with new challenges. While collaborative auditing presents many new challenges, it also provides more opportunities to create value for your auditees. This session will discuss implementing a more positive, collaborative approach to assurance engagements in your audit shop without compromising the integrity and objectivity that your board relies upon and that the Standards require.

Learning Objectives:

• Define collaborative auditing and how it differs from a traditional approach.

• Discuss benefits and challenges associated with collaborative auditing. 

• Identify safeguards and solutions to implementing collaborative auditing without compromising audit independence and objectivity.
