Welcome to 501F Users Group 2017
Fellow Users,
The
2017 501 F Users Conference will be held Sunday, February 19, 2017 through
Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Peppermill Reno in Reno, NV.
This year’s conference will be managed for the first time by Square One Meeting Planning (Tammy Faust & Jacki Bennis). All the information necessary to register for the conference & reserve your hotel room(s) is on one of the tabs or links of this website and please note that some of the processes, including payment methods, differ from previous years. If there are any questions regarding Conference Registration and/or Hotel Reservations, please feel free to contact Tammy Faust (843.856.5150 ext 1 or tammy@somp.co) or Jacki Bennis (843.856.5150 ext 2 or jacki@somp.co)
At The Conference:
501F Users Registration will commence at 7:00 AM on February 20. This year's
conference will formally start at 8:00 AM on Monday, February 20 and run
through 3:30 PM on Thursday, February 24. Some conference highlights are:
- 501
F Users Bowling Outing to be held Sunday, February 19. We thought
Reno might be a bit cool for golfing in February & Reno also happens
to be home to the National Bowling Stadium.
- User-sponsored
Welcome Reception for all users & vendors on Sunday evening.
- Conference
Welcome & Introductions on Monday, February 21 followed by Vendorama
and then the Vendor Fair. We anticipate approximately 48 slots of
either 15, 30 or 50 minutes spread out over 6 rooms and the Vendor Fair
with current expectations of up to as many as 95 vendor table setups.
- Vendorama
presentations provide users a superior learning experience, most offering
owners engine reliability/availability benefits when implemented. This is
said to be the most robust forum of its type currently offered by the
gas-turbine user-group community. Please keep in mind the
significant Vendor participation we enjoyed in past years has been
"key" to the ongoing success of our conference; so please make
an extra effort to attend some of the Vendorama Presentations, as well as
spending some quality time visiting with the various Vendors during the
Vendor Fair.
- A
Vendor Fair Reception running concurrent with the Vendor Fair on Monday
evening.
- There
will be special closed-session presentations to the Users by industry
heavyweights GE Power, Mitsubishi-Hitachi
Power Systems Americas (MHPSA), PSM, Sulzer and Siemens.
- Note:
This will be GE’s first time to participate in a 501F Users Group
Conference and their presentation will describe the company’s
capabilities regarding 501F parts, repairs, outage services, and
upgrades. Recall that these new offerings result from the recent merger
between GE and Alstom.
- PSM(Tuesday),
MHPSA(Wednesday), & GE (Thursday) will also be hosting evening “social” events to give Users
additional opportunities to visit with members of their teams.
- Closed,
users-only sessions, including User presentations and Roundtable
discussion, including the “first time ever” Outage Roundtable. Given
the many options 501F users now have for outage services, this new
roundtable session is expected to generate great participation and
interest.
- Please
consider volunteering to share an experience with your fellow users by
responding to the board’s request for your specific experiences &
participation for these important areas of our conference format.
- Brainstorming
on topics users would like to see include in the quarterly Siemens net
meetings, as well as the Annual Siemens 501F,G,&H Technology Customer
Conference.
Additionally, this year there will be not one, but three (3) optional events for Spouses/Significant Others, one of which will be paid for by the 501F Users Group.
NOTE: Spouses/Significant Others are welcome at all evening events; no children under the age of 21, please. Complimentary transportation to any off-resort events will be provided.
We
look forward to seeing you in Reno.
