Event Description

Topic: Internal Audit Transformation to Agile

Change Velocity is one of the “5 C’s of Risk” which should be keeping Internal Auditors awake at night (according to Richard Chambers’ new book:  The Speed of Risk).   One way to keep up with the fast pace of change is to adopt an “Agile” approach to internal auditing.  Agile is (by definition) the ability to create and respond to change.

Agile methodologies have been used in IT organizations for years for software development.  The hallmark of Agile approaches are adaptability and collaboration, both benefits which can be transferred to Internal Audit processes as well.

In this session, we will provide a brief overview of Agile concepts and terminology and then share how moving to an Agile approach helped Schlumberger’s Internal Audit Department.

  1. Learn the basics concepts of Agile
  2. Learn new terminology related to Scrum (An Agile Methodology)
  3. Understand how to apply an Agile methodology to an Audit Process / Project
