One of the country’s most informed economists, Alan Beaulieu is a principal of the ITR Economics where he serves as President. Since 1990, he has been consulting with companies throughout the US, Europe, and Asia on how to forecast, plan, and increase their profits based on business cycle trend analysis. Alan is also the Senior Economic Advisor to NAW, Contributing Editor for IndustryWeek, and the Chief Economist for HARDI.

 

 
Giancarlo Losma

Giancarlo Losma is the founder and president of LOSMA spa, a leading company in the production of depuration systems for machine tools, founded in 1974, with head offices in Curno (Bergamo). 
Since 2006, he has been a member of the Italian delegation to CECIMO, the European Association of the Machine Tool Industries, in November 2010 he was appointed vice president.
 
Since 2009, he has been vice president of FEDERMACCHINE, the National Federation of Associations of Manufacturers of Capital Goods intended for industrial and handicrafts manufacturing processes. In July 2011 he was elected president of the federation.

In 1996, Giancarlo Losma began his association activities as member of the Board of Directors of UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, a position he held until 2003. From June 2003 to June 2008, he was vice president of the association. In June 2008 the assembly of the association elected him president. In June 2010 his chairmanship was reconfirmed for the two-year period 2010-2012. 

 

 
 
Patricia Panchak

In her commentary and reporting for IndustryWeek, Editor-in-Chief Patricia Panchak covers world-class manufacturing industry strategies, best practices and public policy issues that affect manufacturers’ competitiveness. She delivers news and analysis on trends in tax, trade and labor policy; federal, state and local government agencies and programs; and judicial, executive and legislative actions, with an emphasis on how manufacturing executives can capitalize on best practices to cut costs, boost productivity and increase profits.

As editor, she directs the strategic development of all IW editorial products, including the magazine, IndustryWeek.com, research and information products, and executive conferences.

An award-winning editor, Panchak received the 2004 Jesse H. Neal Business Journalism Award for Signed Commentary and helped her staff earn the 2004 Neal Award for Subject-Related Series. She also has earned the American Business Media’s Midwest Award for Editorial Courage and Integrity.

Patricia holds bachelor’s degrees in Journalism and English from Bowling Green State University and a master’s degree in Journalism from Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. She lives in Cleveland Hts., Ohio, with her family.  

 

 
 
Peter Perez
Deputy Assistant Secretary for Manufacturing
U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration

 

Mr. Perez directs the Department of Commerce’s efforts to enhance the export competitiveness of U.S. manufacturing and promote job growth in the U.S manufacturing sector. He leads his division’s efforts in developing trade policies, initiatives and programs to enhance U.S. exports.

The International Trade Administration’s Manufacturing division covers U.S. manufacturing, including the energy, environment, materials, aerospace, automotives, materials, health, consumer goods, and information and communications industries.
 
In previous positions, Mr. Perez worked for more than 40 years in the manufacturing sector. Most recently he was president of Carter Products Company, a family-owned business, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. During this time, he served as President of the Wood Machinery Manufacturers of America (WMMA) and on the board of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM).
 
Mr. Perez received his B.A. in English Literature from Yale University and his M.B.A. with honors from Indiana University. He also served as an officer in the U.S. Navy.

 

 
 
 
Mauro Pino
Head of World Class Manufacturing
Chrysler Group, LLC
 
Mauro Pino was appointed Head of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) in February 2012. In this position, he is responsible for the implementation of WCM, a methodology that focuses on reducing waste, increasing productivity, and improving quality and safety in a systematic and organized way, at all Chrysler Group manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Previously, Pino was Plant Manager at the Toledo (Ohio) Assembly Complex, which produces the Jeep® Liberty, Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.  Pino joined the Chrysler Group in 2010 from Fiat, where he served as Plant Manager at the Company’s Termini Imerese facility in Sicily.
