Implementing Exertional Heat Stroke Policies: From Research to Reality

Educational Objectives:

  1. Attendees will be able to identify the difference between the wet bulb globe temperature versus heat index and which would be more appropriate for athletics.
  2. Attendees will become familiar with the litigious questions they may face when being prosecuted for an exertional heat stroke death.
  3. Attendees will be provided a foundation to develop a wet bulb globe temperature monitoring plan, including cold water immersion, within their school setting.
