2019 Annual School on Addictions Call for Papers
 
2019 CALL FOR PAPERS - SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Submission deadline: Friday, February 15, 2019. 5:00 p.m. Alaska time. 
  • You will need to complete the online form. 
  • You will be asked to provide the following information when completing the online form: 
  1. Presentation title
  2. A brief summary of the presentation 
  3. The level of the presentation: Entry, Intermediate, Advanced 
  4. Presentation focus: Primary care providers, behavioral health providers, or both 
  5. A description of the presentation with a 300 word limit. 
  6. Three specific session objectives
  7. Audio Visual Needs
  8. A Resume/CV for each presenter. (Submissions will not be accepted without resumes) 
  9. Proposed length of session (1.5 hours or 3 hours) 
  • Criteria for evaluating proposals will include: 
  1. Consistency with the conference theme
  2. Clarity of learning objectives
  3. Addressing issues of concern to the target audience
  4. Presentation is within the time frame (1.5 hours or 3 hours)
  5. Topic reflects skills and knowledge about emerging/developing/evidence-based practices
  6. Presentation is not a sales pitch for a particular program/agency 
Presenters will be notified as to whether or not the Annual School Planning committee has selected your presentation by Monday, March 4, 2019. If you are selected you will be required to submit a PDF version of your power point presentation and any extra handouts. These will be posted on the Annual School website for Annual School participants to download prior to attending the Annual School. It is the responsibility of each presenter to submit their handouts for his/her session prior to the start of the Annual School. Copies of your handouts will not be provided to participants other than what is posted on the Annual School website for participants to download. 

Honoraria are not provided for workshop presenters. Hotel, travel, and other costs are at the presenter’s expense. A complimentary full-conference registration will be furnished for primary presenters who provide a 3 hour workshop. A complimentary registration will be provided for 
one secondary presenter for the day of the workshop. For workshops less than 3 hours, one complimentary registration will be provided for the primary presenter for the day of the workshop. Complimentary registrations are not transferable. All presenters are responsible for their own transportation, hotel and any other costs associated with the presentation. 

Note -  You will be timed out after 30 minutes of registrant inactivity.  We strongly suggest you have an electronic copy of your submission readily available so you can easily copy/paste sections into your submission form within the 30 minute time limit.
