ESX 2019 Registration

Attendee Spotlight: Aaron Whitaker, Founder, Preventia Security

ESX brings together leaders in the electronic security and life safety industry — professionals who are passionate about what they do. Meet Aaron.

Q: What company do you work for and what is your job title there?
I am the founder of Preventia Security.

Q: What are your day-to-day responsibilities at the company?
As the owner of Preventia, I am responsible for a wide range of day-to-day responsibilities, but my primary focus is always on sales and the direction/future of the company. We have a great team in place that handles the majority of the operational items, allowing me to focus more on what's next for Preventia.

Q: Why register for ESX?
We didn't want to miss out on such a great gathering of resources, industry professionals and knowledge.

Q: Have you attended ESX in the past?
Yes.

Q: Are you attending with any team members?
We have several key team members attending this year, representing both sales and operations.

Q: What are you hoping to get out of the show?
We are hoping to get several things out of the show this year. We want to make sure we are up-to-date with the changes in our industry. We want to network with and learn from some of the leaders in our industry — and we are specifically looking for a technology that will give us a better experience managing our larger projects.

Q: What do you hope to accomplish at Preventia in the next year?
We have experienced great growth over the last 4 years and this year is all about refining our processes and procedures so that we will be able to grow at an even faster pace moving forward. We are forecasting over 25% growth this year over 2016, but we want to make sure we can handle 50-100% growth in 2018.

Q: What do you think is the biggest obstacle and the biggest opportunity facing the industry?
I can't speak for the industry, but our biggest obstacle — that many companies probably share — is recruiting the skilled staff that we need in order continue our growth, while maintaining the "Preventia Experience" for our customers. The biggest opportunity for our industry is adapting to new technology that is driving demand beyond monthly alarm monitoring. We are always learning about, testing and getting feedback from customers with new connected home products. We are extremely positive about the future of the industry!
