WIA Extras and Activities

The Woodworking in America Conference expands beyond the walls of the Northern Kentucky Convention Center. Some activities require extra fees and can be purchased during registration for the full conference or Marketplace admission; you’ll find that noted below the description. We have an after-hour activity for everyone! Which one will we see you at?

First Annual Feast of the Ribald Society of Old Moxonians

Oil up the whetstone of your wit and join Roy Underhill for an evening of "wise saws and modern instances" from the rude side of woodcraft. Drawing on many lifetimes in the trade, the host of the PBS series "The Woodwright's Shop" shares ripping yarns of non-fatal insults and injuries guaranteed to amuse and entertain! (Moxon's Ear Wax Gag included!)

 

 

White Water Shaker Village Tour

Location: White Water Shaker Village
Cost: $50 per person (transportation included) 

During the last couple years, Popular Woodworking Magazine has been involved with the restoration efforts at this village, a beautiful group of original buildings still in their original setting. The village isn't yet open to the public, but we have arranged to get you special access with guides who are restoring the village's Meeting House. Get a close look at Shaker craftsmanship – from the toolmarks to the cut nails. See some of the original furniture pieces in the collection, and get a privileged look at this amazingly untouched gem. The village is located about 23 miles away and the tour will last for 1 ½ hours.
