January 27-29, 2019

We are excited to offer the following programs as part of the 2019 Winter Conference:

SAIS Academic Support Conference

  • This professional development opportunity is designed for those who offer academic support in an independent school. Classroom teachers, learning specialists, and directors of academic support are all invited to learn together about the latest research, curriculum, instructional strategies, and best practices for supporting all learners in an independent school. Network with others in the field to discover practical solutions and strategies to foster student success. Sessions will focus on deeper-level executive function skills, moving beyond definition and surface knowledge. We will look into the latest research and neuroscience, as well as practical application in the classroom. Speakers will come from peer schools, both traditional institutions and schools specifically focused on learning differences, as well as universities. Roundtable options will also be offered to explore specific areas of interest like Orton Gillingham, return-to-learn concussion protocols, accessible technology, testing, etc. www.sais.org/ASC
SAIS Athletic Directors Conference

  • A professional growth opportunity for athletic directors from across the region. Learn alongside colleagues as you discuss leadership, communications, and best practices unique to the culture of an independent school athletic department. Take advantage of this focused workshop to discover solutions to current issues and stay informed on the latest trends. www.sais.org/ADC
MISBO-SAIS Auxiliary Programs Conference

  • This conference is for all things before and after the bells ring. After care, extended days, summer camp, and enrichment programs are all important to the school community. Offerings outside the classroom can mean additional revenue for the school, much needed childcare for parents, and exposure to a variety of activities for students. This conference will offer professional development, networking opportunities, and an exchange of ideas for those that work with auxiliary programs. www.sais.org/APC
MISBO-SAIS Finance Institute

  • Join us for an introductory overview of independent school finance for administrators as well as aspiring and early career business officers and heads of school. These informative and engaging sessions led by financial professionals and independent school leaders will provide opportunities to discuss and reflect with colleagues as you learn to make sense of the financial landscape of the school. www.sais.org/FI
